This ranking covers robotic process automation (RPA) in the strict sense: platforms that automate work by driving the user interface of applications, including legacy desktop and mainframe software that exposes no API. It was re-evaluated on 8 June 2026.

A note on scope: in this revision we removed two tools that are API/workflow automation rather than UI-automation RPA, because keeping them misrepresented the category. Tools whose strength is connecting cloud APIs belong in the workflow-automation and AI-agent rankings instead.
