Pricing Overview

Smartsheet uses a per-member pricing model built around project management and work automation, differentiating paid Members (who create and edit) from free Viewers and Guests. In 2026 the free plan became legacy.

Smartsheet Pricing Tiers (as of July 2026)

Two 2026 changes: the free plan is now legacy (closed to new signups since 2024; existing users grandfathered — new signups get a 30-day full-feature trial), and Business is $19/member billed annually ($24 monthly), a step down from the older $32 figure. Only paid Members create and edit; Viewers are free across plans and external Guests are free on Business and Enterprise.

What each plan includes

• Pro ($9/member annual): unlimited sheets, 20 GB storage, forms, basic automations; 1-10 members.
• Business ($19/member annual): removes the member cap, adds WorkApps (no-code portals), Data Shuttle (automated import/export), branching, and unlimited storage; automation actions rise to 10,000+/month.
• Enterprise: adds the Advance analytics/resource add-on, an admin center, premium Data Shuttle and Connectors (Salesforce, Jira), and directory integration (SAML SSO, Okta).

Hidden costs and considerations

• Member vs Viewer model: the free Viewer/Guest tiers are the real cost lever — a large audience that only views or submits does not add paid seats.
• Connectors are Enterprise-only: native Salesforce, Jira, and ServiceNow connectors require Enterprise.
• Data Shuttle limits: the Business-tier Data Shuttle is CSV-focused; database and cloud-storage sources need Enterprise.

How Smartsheet pricing compares

Smartsheet Pro ($9/member) is comparable to Monday.com Basic ($9/seat) and Asana Starter ($10.99/user). At Business ($19/member annual), it is competitive with Monday.com Standard ($12/seat) while adding WorkApps and Data Shuttle, which have no direct equivalents. For spreadsheet-centric project management with external data connections, Smartsheet offers capabilities general PM tools do not match.

Editor's Note: We deployed Smartsheet Business for a construction company (18 licensed members, 40+ free collaborators). The free Viewer/Guest model was the deciding factor — subcontractors and clients could view schedules and submit updates via forms without adding paid seats. Re-checked July 2026: Business is now $19/member billed annually ($24 monthly), down from the $32 we originally budgeted, so the same 18-member deployment runs about $342/month on annual billing rather than $576 — and the free plan is now legacy, so new teams start on a 30-day trial.
