It adds forms for data collection, basic automation workflows, and the ability to publish sheets externally. The Pro plan supports up to 10 licensed users and includes basic reporting. Automations on this tier are limited to a smaller action count compared to Business.

Business

The Business plan at $32/user/month is Smartsheet's most popular tier for mid-sized teams. It removes the licensed user cap, provides unlimited storage, and adds WorkApps (no-code portals for bundling sheets, reports, and dashboards), Data Shuttle (automated data import/export from external sources), and branching for managing multiple versions of a project. The automation action limit increases to 10,000+ per month.

Enterprise

Enterprise pricing includes the Advance plan (Smartsheet's premium analytics and resource management add-on), an admin center for centralized governance, premium Data Shuttle capabilities, premium Connectors for Salesforce and Jira, and directory integration (SAML SSO, Azure AD, Okta). Enterprise is required for organizations with security or compliance requirements.

Hidden Costs and Considerations

• Pro plan user cap: The Pro plan limits organizations to 10 licensed users. Teams of 11+ must upgrade to Business ($32/user/month), a 3.5x price increase.
• Connectors are Enterprise-only: Native integrations with Salesforce, Jira, Microsoft Dynamics, and ServiceNow require Enterprise-level Connectors, which are not available on Pro or Business plans.
• Data Shuttle limitations: The basic Data Shuttle on Business is limited to CSV file imports and exports. Connecting to databases, cloud storage, or other platforms requires premium Data Shuttle on Enterprise.

Editor's Note: We deployed Smartsheet Business for a construction company (18 licensed users, 40+ free collaborators). Monthly cost: $576 ($32 x 18). The free collaborator model was the deciding factor — subcontractors and clients could view project schedules and submit updates via forms without adding licensed seats. The Data Shuttle feature saved approximately 6 hours per week of manual CSV imports from their accounting system. The main cost consideration was the jump from Pro ($162/month for 18 users) to Business ($576/month) — a $414/month increase driven by the 10-user cap on Pro. For their use case, the Business-tier features justified the cost.
