Informatica does not publish pricing. All pricing is custom-quoted based on modules licensed, number of connectors, data volume processed, and number of users. Pricing is negotiated through Informatica's enterprise sales team, with the process typically taking 4-8 weeks from initial inquiry to signed contract.

Informatica licenses its IDMC platform as individual modules that can be purchased separately or as a bundle. Common modules include: Cloud Data Integration (CDI), Cloud Data Quality (CDQ), Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC), and Master Data Management (MDM). Each module has its own pricing tier, and the total cost depends on which modules an organization needs.

Based on publicly available contract data, industry analyst reports, and disclosed pricing from enterprise procurement discussions:

• Small enterprise deployment (data integration only, 5-10 connectors): $50,000-75,000/year
• Mid-size deployment (integration + quality, 20-30 connectors): $100,000-150,000/year
• Large enterprise (full IDMC suite, 50+ connectors, MDM): $200,000-500,000+/year
• Multi-year contracts typically receive 10-20% discounts

What Drives Cost Up

Several factors increase Informatica pricing:

• Number of modules: Each additional module (quality, governance, MDM) adds $25K-75K+ annually
• Connector count: Premium connectors (SAP, Oracle EBS, mainframe) cost more than standard connectors
• Data volume: Pricing scales with IPUs (Informatica Processing Units), which correlate to data volume processed
• User count: More named users increase license cost
• Professional services: Implementation, training, and migration services are billed separately

Cost Comparison with Alternatives

Informatica is the most expensive option per connector, but includes data quality, governance, and cataloging features that competitors charge separately for (or do not offer). Organizations that only need data integration — without quality, governance, or MDM — will find Informatica significantly over-priced relative to alternatives.

Editor's Note: We were involved in Informatica contract negotiation for a mid-size retailer. Initial quote for CDI + CDQ (data integration + quality): $175,000/year. After providing competing quotes from Fivetran ($45,000) and Boomi ($55,000), Informatica reduced to $120,000/year on a 3-year commitment. The premium ($65-75K/year over alternatives) was justified by the data quality module — the retailer had significant data inconsistency issues across their SAP and Oracle systems that Informatica's profiling and cleansing caught during proof-of-concept. For organizations without data quality needs, the premium over Fivetran or Boomi is difficult to justify on integration alone.
