Boomi, LP is a U.S. enterprise software company headquartered in the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania, founded in 2000. It builds an integration platform as a service (iPaaS) centred on AtomSphere. Acquired by Dell in 2010, Boomi was sold by Dell to private-equity firms Francisco Partners and TPG in a 2021 transaction valued at roughly $4 billion and has operated as an independent company since.

Our Take

The Atom deployment model is the Boomi feature that earns its keep on regulated-industry engagements. Because pricing is connection-based and quoted, we model the connection count two years out before signing. — Rafal Fila, ShadowGen

What Sets Boomi LP Apart

Boomi's AtomSphere model lets an integration be designed once in the cloud and run wherever the data must live, including fully on-premises, which a purely hosted iPaaS cannot match cleanly for regulated customers.

About Boomi LP

Boomi, LP develops an enterprise integration platform that connects applications, data sources, and business partners across cloud and on-premises systems. The platform is built around AtomSphere, a cloud-based design environment where an integration is built once in a browser and then deployed to a lightweight runtime engine called an Atom, which can run in Boomi's hosted cloud, on a customer's own server, or in a private cloud. A clustered configuration of Atoms is called a Molecule.

Boomi is broader than a pure integration tool, spanning application and data integration, API management, electronic data interchange, master data management, and workflow automation, which is why it is typically evaluated by larger organisations with many systems to connect. Founded in 2000 and owned by Dell from 2010, Boomi was acquired by Francisco Partners and TPG in a 2021 deal valued at roughly $4 billion. As an independent company it has invested heavily in AI, adding generative-AI assistance for building integrations and products for building and governing AI agents at enterprise scale.
