Coda Pricing Plans (as of March 2026)

Free Plan

Coda's free plan allows unlimited documents with no time restriction. Each document can contain up to 50 "objects" (tables, views, buttons, automations). The free plan includes basic Packs (integrations), limited automation runs, and up to 1,000 rows per table for certain operations. The free tier is usable for personal documents, small projects, and evaluation. There are no seat limits on the free plan — any number of users can collaborate on free documents.

Pro Plan ($10/doc maker/month)

The Pro plan removes object limits (unlimited tables, views, automations per document), increases automation run limits, provides access to all Packs, and adds document locking and version history. The "doc maker" pricing model means only users who create or modify document structure (adding tables, editing formulas, building automations) count as paid seats. Users who only view, fill in forms, or interact with existing buttons are classified as "viewers" and do not require a paid seat.

For a team of 10 people where 6 are doc makers and 4 are viewers: $60/month.

Team Plan ($30/doc maker/month)

The Team plan adds organizational features: folder-level permissions, admin controls (manage who can create docs in shared folders), usage analytics, custom branding (logo and colors on published docs), and higher automation limits. The Team plan is designed for organizations with 10+ doc makers who need governance over document creation and access.

For a team of 15 doc makers: $450/month ($5,400/year).

Enterprise Plan (Custom)

Enterprise pricing adds SAML SSO, audit logging, data loss prevention (DLP), advanced admin controls, and a dedicated customer success manager. Pricing is custom-quoted and typically starts at $35-50 per doc maker per month for teams of 50+.

Cost Comparison with Alternatives

Coda's doc-maker model can be cheaper than per-seat pricing when a significant portion of users are viewers (not doc makers). However, if most team members are doc makers, Coda's Pro plan costs more than Notion and less than Airtable.

Editor's Note: We tracked Coda costs for a 12-person consulting team over 9 months. Initially, 8 of 12 were classified as doc makers ($80/month on Pro). Over time, 3 additional team members needed to edit doc structure for specific projects, bringing the total to 11 doc makers ($110/month). The "doc maker vs viewer" distinction created ongoing friction: people would request doc maker access for one-time edits, then remain on the paid tier. Equivalent Notion cost: $96/month (12 users at $8/mo, no maker/viewer distinction). Coda's pricing is competitive when the maker/viewer split is clear, but the distinction adds administrative overhead.
